Oturu School Project Update May 2021

Oturu School north of Kaitaia, a decile 1 school in a region struggling to encourage education through to the highest level. Bill has been working with the trustees attached to the school to create a self-funding project to bring scholars from Oturu through to Whangarei High as boarders. We have funding to raise this coming year of around $50,000 to facilitate the first of what we hope to be an ongoing source of support to stimulate the local desire for tertiary study and achievement. There has been much legwork to get to this stage, many meetings and combined ideas and initiatives to create the shape of this project. It is now becoming a reality.
