Phil Ashton

I joined Rotary more than two decades ago coinciding with my decision to go into business and harbouring a desire to give back to my community.  I was introduced to Rotary by a client of mine and invited to a meeting with an inspiring guest speaker.  I thought at the time that this would be an ideal framework for me to build a business and make additional friends who were also at a stage in life where they could help.
I like the informal and friendly way Rotary Takapuna North operates while at the same time my personality fits well into our Club's can-do, no-nonsense attitude to getting the job done. 
Rotary for me is also an ideal avenue to keep me in circulation and surrounded by fellow members who have interesting and active lives, each of us sharing the thread of 'service before self'.
